Habitat for Humanity

During my senior year, I began to volunteer with my local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Little did I know these volunteer experiences would allow me to meet so many people and learn so much about construction.

Winter Garden, Florida

During my senior year spring break, I volunteered with several other Endicott students in Winter Garden, Florida. Here, we combined forces with the West Orange Country Habitat for Humanity team. During our week long trip, we helped build two homes as well as paint the exterior of another. This trip opened my eyes to a new passion; hands-on volunteer work. Not only was I able to learn about the construction side of building homes, but I was able to meet the families that we were directly impacting, making every hit of a nail and swipe of paint that much more important. In the future, I would love to volunteer more with Habitat for Humanity to further provide people with a home that provides that sense of security they have always wanted.
