Concept Statement: 

The properties of dominoes and storms are similar. Both can cause unpredictable destruction at a moments notice. With just one push, a domino could fall and create complete destruction to the surrounding area. Environmental disasters such as blizzards, sandstorms, tornadoes, solar flares, etc., carry the same unpredictability and potential for destruction within different areas around the world. Like a set of dominoes, no two storms are alike. Each remain individual to their severity. Within my light fixture, I will demonstrate the element of unpredictability through the lack of symmetry and balance. Instead, my light fixture will disrupt “our everyday order” through its rigidity of the structure, the broken glass mosaic materials and, from the shadows that are created.
